Clive is magnificent! We have a fella we named Cousin It. He doesn't flower, but in the spring before it rains - he basically glows. It's spectacular. He was supposed to be a ground cover but decided he wasn't about that horizontal life😂.

I’m so glad it’s raining here today too! We are seriously behind in our rain amounts and my newly planted perennial bed is so happy today 😊

The world is very dire right now in many ways, but the sky provided a stunning distraction tonight.

Breathtaking.

Repost with a favorite book from childhood.

Noisy Nora was my fave. I actually still have the original book my mom used to read to me as a child. As I got older, she told me Nora in the book reminded her of one of my older brothers (who was the middle child). Still love it!

“It’s ok to be on the counters if I’m “helping” fold laundry, right?”

Happy #Caturday !!!

She’s gorgeous! Our Tinner is also a big fan of heating pads 😊

One of those days where the kiln gods were happy. Another load or two will be out of my community kiln later this week, let's see if my luck holds. Maybe I should offer a sacrifice of some kind...

My daughter reminded me of this gem today. Not a Valentine’s card, but one my First Born made many years ago that still makes me laugh uncontrollably 🤣.

Kids, man.

Shot. Chaser.

Same here! I've always found interest in things that are odd and somewhat dark or creepy. I played around and made these mugs a few years back. Am working to improve on them but the drying gods have been grumpy lately.

After literally 9 years of trying, I was FINALLY able to throw not one, but TWO, decent, 5 pound bowls.

It's all I've got and I'm having onto it for dear life.

My “white whale” in pottery has been making decent, 5# bowls. After ANOTHER discussion w my teacher about it today he touched on what he suspected was my problem. I came home and tried again and, success! Still lots of opportunities to mess them up but getting is far felt good.

Tinner wishes everyone could be as relaxed and unbothered as a house cat on a heating pad.

Deep breaths, everyone.

Finally got over my pottery frustrations from last week, sat down and threw a bunch of garlic graters today - felt good. Now, if the drying gods will be kind maybe I'll get rid of the "yips" I've had recently🤞

Have been fascinated by her since I did a report on her in like 5th grade. Went to the Molly Brown Museum in Denver in Nov and picked this up. Great read so far (and if you have a chance to visit the museum, the gift shop is fabulous).

We’re still in a heady deep freeze here and the news everyday seems dire, so here are some lovely flowers from when my garden is in bloom. Nature soothes the soul.

Hard to be stressed when you have this on your lap

I was hanging on to my account at the bad place because there were still a few accounts I like that I didn’t think were on here yet. The nazi salute solidified my decision to leave and! I checked back on here and those accounts are all here now so….

It’s official. Suck it, musk.

Trying to organize my endless photos and came across some pics of past pieces. Hoping to find some inspiration. Feeling a little frustrated w all the drying issues I’ve had these past few weeks.

Here is our bite-y, scratchy, terrified, little feral that we found at the end of May. Second Son worked so hard to tame her and now she’s loving her new life. We say she’s still about 10% feral because she’s a handful of catitude!

Spent a few hours making a new form; oval gravy pitchers. Lots of steps and fussing. Covered them well so they’d dry nice and slow, but when I took them out this morning, 3 of the 4 I’d made had cracked while drying. 😭😭😭

There’s a lot of heartbreak in pottery.

I love the look of the darker clay when it's fired (this one is Standard's 266) but, MAN, what a MESS. The wheel was *so* bad but I cleaned it up before I touched my phone to take a pic. It looked like a crime scene😂.

We’re on month 8 of trying to teach this feral beast manners, hoping you have better luck than us!

Butter thinks your cat is beautiful and so do I

I ask myself that same thing all the time, except in cat form
