Kitten update. Turned it over to local Animal Services for the weekend, they’re checking if she has an owner/is chipped, doing health checks and determining if she’s able to be adopted. I signed to have first dibs if she’s going to be looking for a forever home.

So a very friendly stray kitten followed me for my (intended to be) very short walk this evening. They were friendly and seemed healthy so I carried them into my apartment to take care of for the evening so I can find a shelter for them tomorrow. Trying not to get too attached.

Kept seeing birds going over to this fence near my office. Decided to check it out and there was wild blackberries! What a treat to snack on with lunch. :)

Saw a red shouldered hawk on the fence at work today. It let me pull up quite close in my car to take pictures. Even preened while I was right next to it! Such a pretty bird. :)

Travelled into DC to watch a Jazz performance. Saw a goose. :)
Been reading Men Without Women by Haruki Murakami. I love the way he writes and plan to read more of his works. Started with the short stories because I was lent the book by a family member.

Pushed through some under the weather-ness to do my part in running the launch day Rivals of Aether 2 bracket at District E today. Had a great time with my static co-to OldManSpidey. The vibes were very positive!

Finished “Strong Female Character”, Fern Brady’s autobiography. A real gut punching and eye opening book for me, definitely ugly cried a couple times. The audiobook version was fantastic, I think any autobiography narrated by the author brings a rawness that wouldn’t be there otherwise.

Saw a great blue heron the other week while on a hike. They seemed as interested in observing me as I was in observing them. Very beautiful bird. I know there’s a lot of symbolism associated with seeing them, but I’m not sure what it could mean in my life right now.
