The dreaded Lusca is neither shark nor even cephalopod, but some enigmatic mollusk which convergently evolved cephalopod-like features like beaks & suckered tentacles. They dwell in the underwater cave systems of the Bahamas that make up the eerily beautiful blue hole formations (Art by JT)

The Caddy is a serpentine marine mammal, specifically a lineage of ground sloth, specifically the already water-loving Thalassocnus. They subsist primarily on seaweed & benthos, & as they still possess the bony armor, renders adults being virtually safe from most predators like orcas. (Art by JT)

An Elf in their true, unglamoured form. The mindset of these beings is so alien they're often seen as more terrific than even Angels & Demons. Infamous for deeds from poisoning crops to killing & abducting livestock & humans, seeing us as especially "fun" playthings (Art by @gaelcasas.bsky.social)

Unicorns belonged to a lineage of the family Hyracodontidae, or "running rhinos", which once inhabited Eurasia. There's thankfully been great efforts in restoring their populace & reintroduction into the wild. (Art by JT)

This terrifically splendid horror novel by @rhenryhumphries.bsky.social's been very enjoyable to read again & again on occasion. I HIGHLY recommend it, especially if you're into speculative fiction too, & xenofiction given we get POV moments from the werewolves themselves~! #WerewolfWednesday
