I found this absolute beauty of a penitent underwing moth taking a nap on my house. My thumb for scale (I have short Lisa Simpson thumbs).
I do have host plant hickory and ash trees, so hopefully I'll find more in the future :)

This is my latest foster boy.
He's 6, has a bad leg that will be amputated in a week, and is a very sweet cuddlebug. I'm training him to not hate men, for which I also need training. (JK I invite nice men I know over to stuff him with treats).
He is a very good boy and deserves a very nice family.

Last year, I'm pretty sure the deer ate all the buds of my swamp rose mallow (Hibiscus moscheutos).
This year my husband left me and I was too bummed to weed, so all my #nativeplants are surrounded by a moat-jungle of inedible mess.
Now I have energy to weed, AND I get to enjoy these blooms :)
