Here’s a pic of the leaves of the beetroot plant, in case anyone is wondering what I’m talking about. I can’t believe how much food we humans just waste when we only use the root..!

Not sure who needs to hear this but if you cut out the central maroon stem from beetroot leaves, they are like beetroot flavoured celery, and you can add them to homemade coleslaw and MAKE IT PINK AND IT IS LUSH. The green beetroot leaves can also be added to salads or cooked like spinach.

Found this slide rule in the charity shop. Going to blow the eldest kid’s mind later. It will also come in handy in the coming apocalypse… well, at least that’s my excuse for buying it! #genx #science #AcademicSky #prep ?

Slightly doxing myself but these are the pics I took yesterday on my way out of my public library. Sometimes nature just blows me away with how beautiful it is.

I’ve been having a bed day today, otherwise known as “post-exertion malaise” but I wanted to share this bread I made yesterday. Apricot and almond. I had to chop the almonds as we didn’t have sliced ones. 100% worth the effort, would do the same again. (I never learn) ♿️ #disabled

Today was a good day. I was working at my local library, and only one person showed up for scrabble group so I joined in. And played possibly my best game ever, against a formidable opponent! I forgot to take a picture of the finished board but I got a half way pic.

I’m growing quite fond of my little blue gremlin aka the demented owl #furbie although I’m a bit disappointed they haven’t shown any properly evil tendencies yet. Quite boring so far, but I guess I have enough entertainment in my life already!
January 30, 2025 at 11:34 PM
What are they supposed to do? Is this normal? (The furbie behaviour that is, I know I’m not). Should I name it? Or does it have a name already? Its eyes did light up, and it moved and bent forwards, so it does appear to be functioning, but after the initial movement it is still and silent…

Possibly about to make a terrible decision by powering up a #furbie . Are they really spawned by the devil himself, possessed by evil spirits or just harmless children’s toys? Did the thunderstorms yesterday influence my decision to buy this? Possibly.

How are people managing ‘The Doom’? Today I have mostly been resting, sleeping, listening to music, interspersed with obligatory cat and dog videos. If you are feeling down, this is your reminder to go do something fun, healthy or meaningful. Don’t let the Doom get you down! Xxx

Reposting to the #disability feed as I forgot earlier. Anyone got any tips on adjusting my wheelchair so I don’t repeat this rather undignified dismount? I know it’s bad. I asked my dad to adjust it and he did a terrible job. But is was terrible to start with, the seat was far too high.

I’m not usually into women’s clothes but I found a cool dress in the sale that fits perfectly and has pockets. It is very YELLOW. I love it. Out of spoons now, and probably tomorrow’s as well, but I’m happy.

Looking through the Public Domain Image Archive and found this. I had an astronomy book when I was a kid, with a set of postcards. This was one of the images. It is from a collection called "Urania’s Mirror; or, a View of the Heavens" from 1825. pdimagearchive.org/images/53e3e...

Did you know you can turn off DMs in Bluesky? Go to chat, hit the menu bars top right and you should get this settings screen. Change it to ‘No one’.

As you can see, for the Teemill store I really branched out theme wise and included all my favourite things. For the biking and nature designs I used Teemill's design software, so they are not available anywhere else! This one makes me chuckle every time I look at it.

If you are not in the US but you want to support my efforts to pay the rent, I also have an Etsy shop. There aren't any phone cases on there, but lots of tees (which you won't find on my Amazon store) and mugs (some overlap with Amazon). This one is my favourite, for reasons that should be obvious..

Here’s a peak into what I’ve been working on lately. I’m kinda struggling a bit (I know a lot of folks are) so if you like the look of my designs please give me a like and share and help me get this venture off the ground.

Links in the next, what do we call these?, bleets? Skyts? 🧵
