Remembering James King of the Artists Rifles. My great great great uncle who was an organist in a church before signing up for WW1. Killed in action in 1917 aged 22, his body was never recovered but he is commemorated at Tyne Cot memorial in Belgium.

This looks very interesting - love the focus on risk management and sustainability - definitely need to take a closer look!

Getting ready for a Digipres North's #wdpd #wdpd2025 special meeting. I love getting to hear what the community is up to, and listening to presentations and demos from colleagues around the region. Today we're getting to see how Explore York are introducing TeraCopy to their workflow.

Wednesday's #iPRESradio shared some of the contestants at the @ipres2025.bsky.social Digital Preservation bake-off & we went down a rabbit hole of 90s web design thanks to @protoweb.org.web.brid.gy

Speaking of preserving the web... have you heard about our @dpasshconf2026.bsky.social next year?

Excellent #ipres2025 paper from @squaredsong.bsky.social on trust without certification, with a call for a more flexible framework for trust and certification in digital preservation. Interesting discussion on whether certification is the best way of gaining the trust of users.

Following on the theme of the messiness or digital records a great presentation from Sonia Ranade and Kirsten Arnold on the user-focused work they have been doing at The National Archives UK on re-envisaging their digital records transfer process #ipres2025

On my 2nd coffee of the morning while watching back some of the #ipres2025 sessions from Tuesday. Currently watching @dannynoonan1962.bsky.social on the messiness of digital preservation workflow development. Lots to relate to here!

Great talk from @archivistkelsey.bsky.social on accessibility of born digital collections. She discusses the implicit, systemic, and unconscious biases built into hardware and software which can negatively impact users, and encourages us to prioritise the humanity of workers and users #ipres2025

This is turning into another really thought provoking keynote "Is openness good?" asks Rosalyn Metz at #ipres2025

Really interested in the Fedora story shared by Rosalyn Metz at #iPRES2025. I knew bits of it (the challenge of migrating from version 3 to 4) but haven't heard it in full before. Lots of useful lessons to learn from this around the importance of community over technology.

I've been to 1.5 iPRES radio sessions today and it has been great (as a virtual attendee in the UK) to have an opportunity to connect and chat with others about iPRES. Also I had an opportunity to talk about mine and @bryonyhooper.bsky.social's poster www.dpconline.org/events/event... #ipres2025

Just attended a really fun virtual Birds of a Feather session at #ipres2025 with Sean Macmillan on digital preservation games. He says "Anyone can build a game". I've left feeling enthused and keen to give it a go! Not sure when I'm going to fit that in exactly...perhaps WDPD next year!

Powerful opening keynote at #ipres2025 from Simon Kofe who talks about what it REALLY means to be a digital nation - preserving identity, status and culture where no physical territory exists.

Last night I celebrated the start of #iPRES2025 with a gig by the amazing Peatbog Faeries - who had a loose connection with the iPRES conference in Glasgow in 2022! Amazing musicians. My ears are still ringing!
