Here ya go, @mrdestructicity.bsky.social . Your costume for this year.

Made an Emerald City wreath for my porch, as a start to my Wizard of Oz Halloween theme. It’s mostly made from recycling and things I had around the house- paper towel rolls and pingpong balls. #WizardOfOz #Wicked

Tested out my modern Dorothy look for Halloween, complete with Kansas tshirt, Toto buttons and purse dog. Not to mention, the shoes! #wizardofpz #dorothy #halloween #costumes

I guess he’s done! Arms on! Epaulettes on! Not toppling over so far. Time will tell. But for the moment he’s together.

Say hello to the TinMan! #wizardofoz #wicked #tinman

Torso and head adhered to my TinMan! I love him!

Arms will be added once all that dries in a day or two.

Limbs are not assembled yet and the thorax bucket needs to be drilled to attach the legs. But I think the proportions are going to work. #TinMan #WizardofOz #wicked

Legs for my TinMan. The feet ended up being perfect. The leg pipe actually fits right into the “ankle” of the foot pipe by several inches. So it’s super stable. Way better than I expected! I am starting my day feeling really happy and hopeful! #wizardofoz #wicked #halloween

Went to Construction Junction with a friend and for $15 we found this massive wooden Cheshire Cat head and tail. It barely fit in my car. Thanks to my friend who took the tail out of the store while I wrangled the head. A future Halloween will use this guy! I love him.

Well, this is about as good as he’s going to get. Oz the Great and a Bit Too Bouncy. (He’s made out of a giant beach ball.) He’ll do. I’m going to display him over a fake flaming cauldron. #wizardofoz #wicked

Not sure this will succeed. Had this idea I could make Oz’s head out of a beach ball.

The texture of this one is sticky & gross. It picks up hair & lint like it’s its job.

Since I have nothing to lose, I used some acrylic paint to shape the head. I don’t know if that will stay or peel off.

Think I got my Glinda set up for Halloween— just need to add some fishing line to hang her up.

I really like this brand of ramen I got at Costco. I actually long for it sometimes— not sure if it’s the spice or what.

I went to a farm today and was saying similarly that it looked like a set in the series Pushing Daisies. So perfect it’s unreal.

Amusingly, in the scene of my book The Trouble with Tweedle, when Mary Ann and Rufus use a rowboat, they meet the Cheshire Cat floating above the river.

This is my cat Cheshire’s new favorite place to camp. #wonderland #aliceinwonderland

I wonder if it blows up and melts your action figure passengers…

I got all the accessories I needed for the Tim Burton young Alice character I made from a thrifted MyLife doll. I think she turned out pretty cute!

Added a wagon wheel and a tiny cow to my Wizards of Oz twister backdrop. Now I just need to find a little house to glue on, a cow figurine, and a tiny bicycle for a 3D effect.

I love my tiny cow.

My Wizard of Oz backdrop is getting there! I want to add a wagon wheel in the dirt up close on the left side, and I sketched out an aerial cow. I added the barn, shed, haystack and truck yesterday. #wizardofoz #wicked #halloween #kansas

Been working on the tarp to go on my slope for my Wizards of Oz Halloween. It’s not good yet- it’s so large it’s a challenge to get the right shapes when I’m working up close. But I will get it. I tend not to give up.

My Scarecrow just needs some gloves now. Based on the original book illustrations I won’t even need to stuff them. #wizardofoz #wicked #scarecrow #halloween
August 19, 2025 at 11:43 PM
Thank you! I added some patches and have him officially stuffed as of tonight.
August 19, 2025 at 11:25 PM
Testing out the clothes before I wrap the framework inside with the filler.

I want to add a couple of patches to his overalls. I think I’ll make them out of thrifted ties in brown and gold.

I’ll also add some hay coming out here and there. #wizardofoz #wicked #scarecrow

Got my Scarecrow head pretty much done. I started building the body tonight. #wizardofoz #wicked #scarecrow #halloween
