In July I had to say goodbye to my beloved boy of 16 years, Herzog, who I raised from 8 wks old. It still hurts, now and then.
I'm so, so thankful Fergus was able to leave you happy and without pain, but I know it hurts. An early diagnosis is the cruelest blessing there is. 💔

Yesterday I saw my very first American goldfinch getting seeds from the dead Black-Eyed Susan heads. Today, saw a female cardinal catch a huge wasp mid-air.
Soon I'm going to cut down this invasive Chinese Primrose and replace it with a native Black Willow. 😊🌳🌿

We picked him up last week from the Petuary. "Oh thus was that big, pretty boy with the white blazes," they said. She also asked if we had other pets. On hearing No, she said "the house feels cold now, doesn't it?"
Maybe it was just being polite or part of a shtick but it helped so, so much.

My herb spiral has come a loooooong way since last year.
I've got parsley, sage, rosemary...and oregano.
I had Thyme but it didn't survive the winter.
We've cooked with the Rosemary & Oregano. Also I didn't know sage had flowers!

The garden is getting ready to do it's thing - we've fertilized and planted seeds in some parts the last 2 weekends, getting ready to add another bed and fill it with native plants. 🌾🌱🌲🌿
I'm pleased by how much survived the winter!

I don't know how but today I made The Perfect Cup of Coffee. Just 2 scoops of Medallin d'Oro in the French Press, with a splash of milk. It's just... taking me somewhere. Somewhere nice.

I don't know how but today I made The Perfect Cup of Coffee. Just 2 scoops of Medallin d'Oro in the French Press, with a splash of milk. It's just... taking me somewhere. Somewhere nice.
