The Buddies bring so much joy! I sell them at my studio but my favorite is to give them away. The phlebotomist today was stressed because I’m a hard stick. After we were done I gave her a buddy & she was so excited. She said this week has been rough.
A lot of Buddies on a board on my table. They are all different colors and expressions. Some have glasses, or facial hair. All of them make me smile A gold buddy! This one is extra special because not only is it gold, it has cat eye glasses! My hands shake often and making cat eye glasses is hard so I don’t think I’ll do this again but you never know! We took Buddies to San Diego and left them fun places for people to find. This was at the rock wall at The Rabbit Hole 😂

Inside of the kiln. Small pieces with different glazes on them on the left, a section of a larger sculpture on the right. The larger sculpture is a rounded square shape. It’s the base of a sculpture I’m going to put in my front yard. The rest of the sculpture is in various states of firing. Yes I know I have to replace the thermocouple 😂

(Oh look it’s the same IG that creepy blood guy is doing, except I actually need it to keep me alive)
A medical procedure in progress. My right thigh, with an infusion happening. Two infusion needles on the inside of my leg, one infusion needle on the outside. My pump with a syringe of IG therapy (yes the same stuff as crazy blood guy) is to the right of my leg. Out of view is my left leg, with two needles outside and one inside. Total infusion is 6 sites. I do this twice a week. Unlike blood guy, this very needed treatment keeps me alive.

Not me eating things that give me heartburn 😂
MG gives me GERD. And currently, I’m unable to get my prescription acid reducer. Do I stop eating things that could make things worse? Apparently not lol
Look I just like spicy things ok? This is barely spicy so it shouldn’t count 😂

Good things art wise! There’s a gallery owner that has stopped by 3 times to look at my work, I sold damn near everything at a small gallery show, an art collector wants pics of the sea flowers (he usually buys from my IG stories), and just got a message from someone who wants sea flowers too!

Came home and my cat was learning about mutual aid

Sea Flower on the wall at my studio. The glaze on the Sea Flower is an iridescent brown/black. I absolutely love this glaze, but it’s not for everyone 😂 Another Sea Flower on the wall. This one is different hues of blue with cream. This is a new combo, so I’m excited about it. Spiky black wall piece, with two places to put tea light candles. The candles on the piece are battery operated since I don’t want to set my studio on fire. I get distracted 😂 Below the piece is a ceramic plaque with “By Candlelight” and “$200” to show the name of the piece and price. Some of y he lovely work by Bex Pottery. On the wall is a rather large ceramic dick. It is glazed with a red & cream glaze. Below that on a platform are more of Bex’s work. There are three vases of various sizes in the same glaze combo, along with two mugs. Love those reds 😍 We support artists here, of all kinds. 😊

Process.
The orbs that I make, work in progress. Four porcelain orbs are on newspaper on a ware board. The two on the left are in the first stage, where two pinch pots are put together. The two on the right are the next step, where I use a serrated rib to start smoothing the orb All four orbs are in the same-ish position, now at the smoothing stage. Serrated ribs are great for smoothing lumpy things. Same orbs, now in either last stage or almost last, depending on whether I’m making regular orbs or pooling orbs. The orbs aren’t perfectly round because I don’t want them to be. 😁 Pooling orbs! Same orbs, now with circular indentations. Pooling orbs create really fun effects that are considerably different than regular orbs. Now I let them dry unwrapped until tomorrow, when they get my stamp and a hole at the bottom.

Just adding some cat timeline breaks. This is Gizmo. She’s 13. I’ve had her since she was 10 weeks old. Her momma was a feral who had kittens under my friend’s porch. She’s a micromanager who demands pet/nap breaks.
She stank faces humans who say froggy things in her company.
I love her so much 🥹
