And I believe you worked with a dev editor, so once you make it through their revisions, then that might be a good indicator too.

And you're right, knowing when you've done what you can without getting others' input is also a good way to know. If you get to a point where you're revising and you're not sure if you're making it better or just different, that's a good indicator too.

This is the million-dollar question! At this point, it's mainly about making sure the argument is clear and supported. that the significance of that argument/the project is clear, and that it's written with the audience in mind.
