States that care about their transgender citizens need to enshrine rights into their constitutions, since SCOTUS has decided to punt anything remotely related to the 14th Amendment back to the states.
The Supreme Court's decision to uphold a Tennessee ban on gender affirming care for minors is a major loss for the transgender community at an extremely vulnerable moment.

“Materially and emotionally, for transgender young people and their families, the worst case scenario has already happened.”
Supreme Court upholds Tennessee ban on gender affirming care for minors
"[The Court] authorizes, without second thought, untold harm to transgender children," Justice Sotomayor wrote in a dissent.
