Two incredible mini-workshops by Mike Ciccotello last night during my school’s book fair event! The students were totally inspired, engaged, and entertained by Mr. Mike! These classic picture books are always a highlight when we study owls in science. My first graders are gearing up to dissect owl pellets. 🦉 🦴 In the second picture, you’ll see the talon of a Barn owl (on the left) compared to a Bald eagle (middle) and a Harpy eagle (right). 👀 #kidlit #science #pb

I’ve been using the stunning classic Stellaluna for many, many years in my elementary science classroom. Kids absolutely love this story. 🧡What a great way to kick off our study of bats! 🦇 And a great way to compare/contrast bats and birds.
