To me, the most exciting day of the year is when Elmview Farms delivers our first load of compost. The best way to enrich your soil. I use it as mulch. This gorgeous stuff makes me so happy! elmviewfarms.com

🌱Does anyone know if this plant is the invasive Potentilla indica (Asian Wild Strawberry)? I’m weeding an area I haven’t gardened before and wondering if I should remove it. Thanks in advance for advice!

Thirty minutes later can’t see the ground. THIS IS WHY we don’t cut back last year’s dead 🌱 foliage prematurely. The pollinators are sheltering in those hollow stems. Please 🐝 kind to insects.

I would prefer to sing, 🎶 “April showers bring May flowers”🎶. Not “White Christmas” which is what it’ll be like here in 30 minutes.

🌱 I am a rip-out-your-lawn & plant for the environment crazy gardener. Benjamin Vogt’s 3-part posts today on Instagram appealed to the rebel in me. I am not a conformist but I’d never assessed my attitude from that standpoint. Removing lawn & observing the influx of insects has brought me such joy.

I read this book last night. Lovely story. For the first time in my life, I teared up while reading the Acknowledgments.
“PS: Black boys deserve love stories too.”
Thank you, Jason Reynolds!

It's been ten years since the world lost Dr. Paul Kalanithi (April 1, 1977 – March 9, 2015). Grateful for his remarkable book, When Breath Becomes Air. Sending warm wishes to his family.

David, we Canadians might want to start calling Thursday #TrudeauDay. “Donald” might not like us showing gratitude for our “Governor”. #ElbowsUp #TeamCanada

We Canadians might want to start calling Thursday #TrudeauDay. “Donald” wouldn’t like that.

The two local Canadian owned hardware stores I buy from are Home Hardware and Canadian Tire. Next week's flyers feature ... you guessed it, Miracle Gro. We Canadians, as consumers, need to educate them as to what we need in order to grow our healthy veggies and flowers.

No-one tells you how scary two-storey rolling ladders can be though. Thankfully, I’ve only fallen off once in 5yrs. I’m so grateful for our family library.
