Are you at #MpactPDX? Stop by the @trecpdx.bsky.social booth for some fun swag. Better yet, come by Tuesday at 1 pm for office hours with former congressman and Railvolutionary Earl Blumenauer.

Democracy is not for spectators.
We need courage, not working under the radar.
Don’t focus on ROI. Slavery had an ROI.
Invest in people so that we can say “all the children are fine”
We need to plan for opportunity, not just emergency

Speaking of street transformations, the new restrictions motor vehicles on Pike Place outside the market made me enjoy the place far more then my visit in 2008.
The pilot project was a window of opportunity (street repair work), a common origin for street transformations.(repost with gif)

I love wandering around cities. In Seattle today I randomly walked down Terry Ave., about 1/2 mile NE of Pike Place. It was a little oasis. Of course I had to find out what it was before, and Google Streetview answered.

I’m spending this week with 24 Oregon high school students, leading a transportation camp. It’s what all older transportation geeks (like me) wish they could have done in high school. Today @trimet.org gave us a tour of the Robertson Tunnel! @trecpdx.bsky.social

Using the political affiliation of the census tract’s member of the U.S. House, they show that households in Democratic tracts would pay more.

These charts show the change in payments by income and area type.
The simplified analysis is based on overall fuel economy by zip code, not by HH characteristics. VMT predicted from demographics by census tract.

The photo from the article shows the path the hawk used. After it heard the audible signal, it perched on a tree down the street. When cars queued up beyond house #2 where sparrows were feeding, the hawk flew along the opposite sidewalk, crossed, and hunted.

Are you missing a piece or two from your Lantern Press National Parks jigsaw puzzle? I’ve got four duplicate pieces. 😆
There must be puzzle(s) out there missing them, right? Not the first time I’ve had dupe pieces. Someone should make an app to match up missing & extra puzzle pieces. 😉
