I cancelled my subscription when the WP editorial board called Mandani “Generalissimo.” Checked back today to see how they would cover this, and feel ever better about quitting a paper I read almost every day for 35+ years.

Also, is that the kind of engagement he wants to model for young people? What an odd and angry fellow.

He also told Emma Thompson that he was surprised at how easily her character and Adam Rickman’s resolved their dispute in Love Actually.🤔

What a heartwarming Hanukkah message.

And thanks to my grandmas cake recipe and my neighbor’s hands-on help now have produced something that I think is a cake.

The Christianity that the people have used to subjugate others has little to do with the life of Christ as described in the Bible. Highly recommwnd this article: www.nytimes.com/2025/04/13/o...

His grandfather was a Nazi sympathizer who emigrated from Canada to South Africa because he admired the National Party. And his dad recently defended apartheid in an interview with CNN, saying it was good for black South Africans because “we fed them” and “gave them work”.

Exactly. ICE is the modern day equivalent of slave patrols.

Make that the Three Eyes.

Scenes like this will be an enduring stain on US history. Like dogs attacking marchers in Selma; like Japanese internment camps; like lynchings; like slave patrols. I cannot believe that ICE won’t be the end of MAGA’s reign of terror.

Calgon, take me away…preferably to the coast of Scotland!

What the hell does this even mean.

You win, Cora! 😊

Why would a serious newspaper choose to do a review of a silly holiday show? There’s a million shows out there to review, but choosing this one provided another chance to pile on. And I’m not a “fan” and I’m not crying.

Leave this woman alone, already! Even if you don’t like her, she has not done anything wrong or illegal; she is not cruel or malicious; she is not in a position of power or authority. Why would the Guardian, which I generally respect, participate in this vicious piling-on?

Very hard to talk about democratic norms and rules in class the days without sounding like I’m a political partisan.

Such a beautiful scene in such a brilliant movie.❤️

Wow…I had no idea!

The big question is how this woman gets a platform on CNN.

Is Trump what passes as “picturesque” these days?

Rep. Salazar likes his policies because he is willing to break the law and flout the letter and intent of the Constitution. So he is a piggish lout AND a law-breaker.

This is an actual political cartoon from the gilded age. Notice the similarities 👇

The same guy who says he will stand up to our global adversaries spends half his time obsessing about the mean things late night comedians say about him. One reason I don’t like parodies of Trump anymore is that nothing can top the reality of this fragile, damaged, ridiculous man.
