Had to run some books to patrons half mile away yesterday, when the AQI was nearly 200 and it was raining, yet my coworkers were surprised I drove. "Outside is lava," was my response.

My task today is to assemble a life-size horse because once I got the idea in my head to make a life-size horse drawing, it had to be done.

One of my favorite work sounds is hearing caregivers read books out loud to kids.

Just Irish enough to celebrate today by eating a bowl of Lucky Charms for breakfast and stop there.

Me: "I'm a degreed librarian! I should be doing prestigious and important work!"
Also me: "Look at the two-foot-wide tortoise I drew and printed out to paste up on the library wall!"

I took one of my two sweaters off so I could drink a hot chocolate without turning off my heating pad and not start sweating.

Yesterday I became one of those Minnesotans who will drive a convertible car around with the top down once it exceeds 45º outside (with the seat heaters on, of course).

Extra windy Kite Festival both providing misery and joy. The wind was horrifying but made for amazing kite flying.

When I get up off the couch, one lucky cat moves over to where I was sitting, to soak up the warmth of what I call the "warm butt spot". Last night two of the cats took it together.
