Friendly reminder that Helm's Deep was famously fought in the dark. And yet...I can see everything clearly because audiences are not stupid and the screen doesn't need to be pitch black for us to understand that it's dark outside at night in the rain.

I'm rewatching The Covenant because it's a comp for the Very Secret Project That Scares Me I'm working on and God, this movie is so bad and I love it so much. What if Steven Strait, Sebastian Stan and Taylor Kitsch had magical powers in a dark academia world.

The NYPL has named OUT OF OUR LEAGUE one of the best books of 2024! First, it's an honor to have my childhood library honoring us this way and add to that it was a dream project with such an incredible co-editor @missdahlelama.dahliaadler.com and the most astoundingly brilliant contributors.

Solved a bit of a family mystery last night when I finally found a record of my great-great grandfather's grave and low and behold, the man was so proud of where he came from he gave us an exact location. Anyone a Hennessy in or near Ennis, County Clare, Ireland want to claim your American cousins?

I was at a football game yesterday and during a bit of video fluff there was a brief bit of music from Gettysburg, the 1993 movie chronicling the battle staring Jeff Daniels and Martin Sheen (that I'm pretty sure only I and Boomer/Early Gen X men love) and now well, I have to rewatch it...
