In an exciting update, I'm delighted to announce that Professor Karen Coats, Professor Lisa Rowe Fraustino, and Dr Carrie Spencer will give a joint keynote (more details to follow). /2

This research feels incredibly urgent given the current political climate in the US. As a woman from Northern Ireland, where abortion only became legal in 2019/2020, it also has a personal resonance. I'm honoured to be able to undertake this project and look forward to making Münster home for 2025.

As part of a larger monograph project exploring representations of teenage pregnancy, motherhood, and abortion in American YA, my research during this fellowship will consider the "abortion road trip" narrative, where female protagonists travel across state lines to access reproductive healthcare.
