The #luxmuralis light show in Salisbury Cathedral was excellent. Really entrancing to see the projections move around you and very cleverly/artfully put together

Ooh, interesting. This one was vault city's "white Velvet". Technically a sour, but quite mild. Apparently they also have "black velvet", but I'm yet to come across it in the wild 😆

Just had a beer that was opaque white(ish) and I'm still confused by what must be some kind of sorcery. It was also very good!

Spent the day at Burlington House for the Joliot Curie Funding Workshop. It was a really engaging and interesting workshop, learned a lot about the intricacies and the top tips of applying for independent funding. Thanks to the organisers for putting it all together!

Today's fun discovery is a cafe/bar/recording studios inside Bastion 4 of the Hilsea Lines, surrounded by a mix of woodland and old fortifications. Great little Sunday jaunt and did good hot chocolate

Detour to pretty metro station (Toledo, Naples) came with bonus unexpected science 🧪 with some cosmic rays. Maybe more astrophysics than chemistry, but I feel #chemsky folks would enjoy it

SSC Napoli are playing Manchester City right now. Napoli's home stadium is about 30 seconds from my hotel...But unfortunately they're playing in Manchester 😆

Really enjoyed the wide range of talks at the New Directions in Functional Materials conference in Liverpool today. Nice to learn about exciting research not all in my field, but presented engagingly and accessibly. The "Oooh, fun" voice in my head kept going off
