My partners refer to themselves as a polycule- we all do- even their other partners and metas. We are mostly GPP(maybe a bit KTP when all parties consent); and most of us live alone (and stay with our personal partners regularly).

There are many styles of polyamory: KTP, Garden Party Poly, parallel, and lap sitting.
You seem to be describing the lapsitting dynamic or maybe Kitchen table poly.
