My sweet girl got to go trick-or-treating at her play place! She was great at learning not to be scared of the decorations.

Love my new Lady Justice sticker with Braille from @eff.org

We have been so desensitized by a hundred and fifty years of ceaselessly expanding technical prowess that we think nothing less complex and showy than a computer or a jet bomber deserves to be called "technology" at all. As if linen were the same thing as flax — as if paper, ink, wheels, knives, clocks, chairs, aspirin pills, were natural objects, born with us like our teeth and fingers — as if steel saucepans with copper bottoms and fleece vests spun from recycled glass grew on trees, and we just picked them when they were ripe... One way to illustrate that most technologies are, in fact, pretty "hi," is to ask yourself of any manmade object, Do I know how to make one?

I have to say that I don’t find this $20 “convenience fee” a n a $7 toll very convenient. Thanks, junk fees and Hertz!

I love and walk in Seattle’s Matthews beach area…not far from UW. These are some of my friends. Waiting at a safe distance from my dog. She has learned to temper her prey drive around them and they are patient with her.

No power, no school, no work in Seattle. Spent some time playing with my kid and some bubbles before heading out for a quick hit of electricity and connectivity.

Had the best time doing an accessible cooking chat today for our team’s office hours! I got to show off some of the stickers I use on appliances and we learned cool stuff from cool people about tips for neurodivergent, blind/low vision and mobility cooking!
GE adaptive kit filled with tactile stickers of Braille, symbols, and even high contrast, durable stickers developed in collaboration with American Printing House for the Blind

This from suffragette Lucy Stone stuck with me. This is from 1855. It took white women another 25 years to vote & another 110 years for the Voting Rights Act to enshrine voting for “minorities.” We’ve been denied rights before & came through to brighter days with the hard work of unsung heroes.
