Took our kids to New Orleans for the first weekend of Mardi Gras, and they asked what the chances were of them catching any beads.

There was a #ProtectTransSiblings rally in Colorado Springs today. I haven’t heard of plans to protest at UC & Denver Health yet, but hopefully that’s in the works.

Who’s ready for a weekend?

0° (F) this morning, so I did some gardening. These African Violets (saintpaulia ionantha) were fighting for room in the same pot and I finally got them separated. It’s unlikely they’ll all make it, but cautiously optimistic on the ones that had their own root systems growing.

I always found the Rev Mother hella scary. Check out her office: spooky lighting and haunted mansion wallpaper. Nope nope nope.

Finally made it to Estes Park (first time since fall) and doing our annual re-watch of The Sound of Music. It’s usually a Christmas Day watch, but kids decided Jan 1 was a good alternative. AND we’re loaded up with cookies from our NYE baking extravaganza.

“Fine & Dandy” unlocked. Slight alterations for what was on hand: triple sec —> Gran Gala, *lavendar* simple syrup, and *orange fennel* bitters.

Big Head Todd’s annual Thanksgiving concert in Fort Collins—the town that gave this band their start—is one of my fav local traditions. I don’t need to tell you how good Todd Park Mohr is, do I? (So damn good.)

I grew up with cats. Is this…normal? (He’s sleeping.)

They’re double-tipped (brush & fine), alcohol ink. My new fav.

Took the dog out at midnight. There’s a perfect circle of rainbow around the moon. Beautiful.
