I shall never forgive the town of Derry for Richie. Never.

@talkscaredpod.bsky.social @keithrosson.bsky.social I had an ARC of "Coffin Moon" and "my love mattered more than yours" struck me profoundly. I'm deeply acquainted with that bitch grief and found myself aligning with Varley in that moment. Right or wrong, I understood. Maybe we are psychopaths? 😂

My youngest bought me the most beautiful gift! A signed copy of “The Buffalo Hunter Hunter”!
Look at the glory of those sprayed edges! I’ve never seen a more beautiful book! And the dust jacket? It’s been ages since I’ve seen one. I’m in love. #bestbookof2025 @sgj.bsky.social

Put down a few words in a politically themed short horror story this morning. Is it too campy? Is it too on the nose? Only time will tell.

I'm working on a new short story, and I'm struggling with the opening scene. Primarily, I wonder how far is too far? How do I make this outlandish point without tipping over into parody?

@adamcesare.bsky.social My daughter brought me a shelf trophy for the kindle read and I finally got to watch the movie. I really enjoyed it!

My niece hooked it up with a poster from the theater she used to manage.

@ericlarocca.bsky.social I just got the ARC of “We Are Always Tender.” I appreciate the warnings. I recently started grief/trauma therapy. I feel as though I’m digging scars out of my soul with blunted and bloody fingernails. As much as I adore your prose, I may have to sit on this one a bit first.

@sgj.bsky.social My husband's uncle was Tohono O'odham and every time Good Stab says "like this" I think of him and hearing him tell stories.

If you haven't listened to the audiobook of "The Buffalo Hunter Hunter," you're missing out on an amazing experience. The narrators are spectacular, and the writing lends itself magnificently to the spoken word. @sgj.bsky.social is a masterful storyteller, and this is him at his very best.

@danielkraus.com I know you’re a busy guy, but I was wondering if you’d share a bit of info about your writing machine in your next newsletter? I’m fascinated by it.

It's hard trying to restart a feeble writing career later in life. The rejection letters make me feel rushed, like I don't have enough time to get it done. However, sometimes the rejection letters hold kindness that helps you remember you can keep moving forward. Today is a good day.

@adamcesare.bsky.social This may be an odd question, but do you, as the book writer, make money when "Clown in a Cornfield" moves to streaming? It never came to my hometown, and I haven't made a trip to the city yet. I am planning on purchasing it when it streams, though.

@littleghostsbooks.bsky.social Even if I didn't make the cut for the Wet Screams anthology, I still appreciate that kind letter and words of encouragement. It's hard to be a pimp on these streets!

@natcassidy.bsky.social "When the Wolf Comes Home" is so very, very good. Not once have I known where it was going. Also, I was a huge Piers Anthony fan when I was young. The first few novels of the Xanth series were my gateway drug. My mom bought me a calendar of Xanth art when I was kid.

@littleghostsbooks.bsky.social I can't remember the specifics from the submission call, but I believe it stated that we weren't selected if we hadn't heard by the first week of May. Is that correct? Thank you!

@catrionaward.bsky.social Your story in "The Shivers" sundered my soul. I resonated so deeply with the emotions of dealing with an alcoholic. It was well-written and so staggeringly accurate that I had to take breaks in the reading. It was also cathartic, cleansing, and glorious. I loved it.

Currently reading "The Shivers" short story collection. Phenomenal stories shared by exceptional authors. I'm not sure how I feel about sharing a name with characters in two of the stories, however. @sgj.bsky.social

@talkscaredpod.bsky.social I heard you mention Oddity for the jump scare and thought I’d give it a watch. Listen. I nearly teleported out of my skin.
But, outside of the jumps, it’s got some good creeping dread.

Additional thoughts on "Angel Down" that I felt might be a bit unprofessional in an ARC review.
It's likely going to be a bit divisive. Some people won't like the highly unusual formatting. And, while it made my brain itch at first, the style and the occasional interruptions of flow feel like a

@natcassidy.bsky.social I had no idea you were a fellow Arizonan! Well, raised Arizonan, I suppose. Your podcast with @thisishorror.bsky.social was a fascinating listen and reminded me that even in the busiest of times, I can carve out moments for what matters to me.

@danielkraus.com I'm 3/4 of the way through "Angel Down" and sir, may I say? Good. God. Damn. This is literary genius.
