What interests me so much about this discussion that I spent my time in college thinking the same thing. But when I got to the real world, I saw black and white don't exist.
This is very much a shades of gray issue much, much like vehicles in cities, or pulp mills or slaughter houses....

Electric is a great option, many companies are switching. However not every company will make the switch.
I use electric at home but my crews use gas. I brought the electric options to my superiors and was politely told to "fuck off, you hippie" and this is a very progressive major coperation

Most home owners don't know how to use a blower effectively.
Also they allow lawn, landscape, grounds, and arborist professionals to do work and keep it affordable.

Fun Fact, the information on a CD is actually molded into the CD as it is made. The ability to "burn" CDs was a separate technology completely and was developed almost 15 years after the CD was first released. The data quality was low and the CDs actually wore out much like poorly press vinyl albums
