I wasn't bowled over by THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL back in 2014, but for some inexplicable reason M.Gustave's insouciant courage and kindness in the face of thuggery and fascism lands differently in 2024. Rewatching it last night I thought it was wonderful: a gorgeous & heartbreaking act of defiance.
