I’ve been thinking about this and remembering my own experiences in conservative reformed circles. They would say that he’s from the “wrong” denomination and has the ”wrong” theology…which just means they can dismiss him right away and then they don’t even have to reckon with his actions.

This is so true. We will never know.

This is impressive and motivating. I need to do this. I took care of a couple thousand the other day and was both happy with doing the dreaded task but a little discouraged by how little I got done.

We attended a local protest last Saturday and intentionally carried flags. The far right doesn’t get to monopolize the flag or patriotism. I stumbled around for several years with disillusionment and cynicism but when I realized it was because I love this country and want to see it meet its ideals?

Totally fine. Glass of milk and a double slice of Aldi turtle cheesecake. 🙃

Whew. There is deep, deep grief. We left our church in the depths of Covid and haven’t returned. I know who would place all the blame and responsibility on us for leaving and not returning yet but it’s deep convictions that called us out to begin with…it really has been a long, hard stretch.

It’s all just so much. 🙈
