I teach MLA to 9th bc my dept requires it but tell my seniors they’re more likely to use APA in college & encourage it instead. I tell both that when I practiced law, I used BlueBook & learning skill of reading/applying any style rules will transfer to their field whatever the style guide.

It never occurred to me to do this, any more than I would’ve thought to ask a non-lawyer to work on a brief for me when I was practicing law!
