I was thinking over this series recently & wondering if you’ve taken into account that fallow fields were probably not entirely idle. Now, IANAF, but IIRC, fields that are fallowed would probably have cover crops sown on them in order to prevent soil erosion. That would imply SOME hrs of labor?
