Ask Canadians about the impact we’ve had on the US, in terms of saying no to US travel, shopping, trade, and more. Proof that people can have a powerful impact; you just have to choose to take action (and we did🇨🇦).

Canadians are taking a big step back from the U.S. — and here's the data to prove it | CBC News
In the weeks after U.S. President Donald Trump sparked a trade war with his punishing tariffs, Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada’s "old relationship" with the U.S. would be "over" soon — and now ...

It’s not just 🇨🇦 that views US’ reputation as in ruins; it’s global. Americans generally don’t have a good understanding of how rest of the developed world views them.
Canadians cover themselves & their luggage in the maple leaf🇨🇦 when traveling; it’s patriotic & avoids being mistaken as American.

He shouldn’t say that too loud; Canadians are resourceful and don’t have to use this company to plan their trips elsewhere (we 🇨🇦 are continuing to avoid US travel and are leaving US goods in the stores).

Agree; this situation isn’t to be taken lightly. Canadians have an opportunity to discover new places or go back to a place they loved visiting, including right here in Canada 🇨🇦

A lot of Orlando travel is Canadians; many are highly offended by Trump’s actions and threats and there are now travel advisories regarding the US. Expect Canadians 🇨🇦 to take their travel dollars elsewhere.
April 6, 2025 at 12:58 PM
We in Canada are aware of recent travel advisories that have been placed on the US; expect further tourism declines. Travellers spend lots of money; on accommodations, food, events, and shopping; the good news is that it’s a big world and we’ve got lots of travel options, including right here 🇨🇦

Since when does Trump say honest or accurate things? This is what he does.

He’s a chameleon in the shallowest of ways.

Regardless, this is who the US is now and allies are having to deal with it. What are Americans, including those in Congress, going to do about it?
March 1, 2025 at 12:35 PM
US reputation won’t recover from this horrifying, bullying conduct. Pres Zelensky should walk out. This “deal” is a trap.
February 28, 2025 at 5:49 PM
What’s ridiculous is when some US media try to rationalize what he is doing, speculate whether he will learn from situations, take advice, etc. What they should be covering is how alarming his actions are.
February 23, 2025 at 3:37 AM
Credible journalism doesn’t give in to such demands. Keep doing what you’re doing; it’s meaningful and important leadership.
February 19, 2025 at 1:55 AM
Canadians are highly offended by Trump’s threats; we are nobody’s state🇨🇦 What US media should be reporting: how alarming it is for a US president to be making statements consistent with dictators & autocrats. As if a country taken over would have the right to vote in US; you’ve missed the point.
February 18, 2025 at 1:19 AM
There is no “thank you” in this. Canadians are highly offended by a US president repeatedly making statements about taking over independent countries; we in Canada are nobody’s state🇨🇦
There is a strong focus on Buy Canadian, which includes avoiding spending on anything related to US.
February 13, 2025 at 11:46 AM
Zero pushback or fact checking in this “interview”; neither know what a trade deficit is. Embarrassing moment for journalism.
Here’s a fact: we in Canada are nobody’s state🇨🇦
February 9, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Where is the system that is supposed to provide protection from this type of activity? The “checks and balances” that Americans seem to have so much confidence in. Officials in the US govt and related who could oppose/take action have been invisible.
February 5, 2025 at 2:50 PM
This is not the first independent country that Trump has spoken about taking over. We in Canada are highly offended by his comments about our country and won’t forget. In the meantime, have seen no serious opposition in the US to his conduct, beyond the occasional person; where is everyone?
February 5, 2025 at 1:29 AM
Speaking as a Canadian who has closely followed US news and politics for decades, our country is extra united these days, all because of Trump’s tariff stunt. Canadians won’t forget this.
