Thinking of my “music career.” I still sing and write, mostly for myself now. And having been focused on beauty and poetry for most of my career, today’s songs are bitter and angry. Not that I am unhappy…I just feel like I want to smash the patriarchy most of the time. Is that jarring to listeners?

I painted this, it got stolen. Well, technically, the RV it was in got stolen. But it makes me feel like my art is in demand to think of it as the thief’s target.

My colleague got a letter from Americorp, giving her a short deadline to remove certain words from the job descriptions of the folks they have placed with us. You can guess what words these are if you have paid any attention to the news. NGOs are being targeted too, not just feds. Scary.

New! My duo with Martin Praetorius, Transatlantic Trails, has a lyric video for our song, January. Written in 2017, reflecting on the times…and here we are again.
Keep focused on what matters, folks.
You are the light we need for these times we’re living in.

Ok. I logged off Facebook and am going to stay away from meta for a week, if I can. Bluesky, show me you can entertain me as well as TikTok and I am yours forever.

I ended up taking a blurry photo but wondered, could I make it look like a coin? What do you think?

Staying with friends in Berlin. Coveting her coffeemaker. I checked the price online. Dayum, it’s a $700 machine. Only a little bit more expensive than a robotic cat box. It seems that day-to-day convenience usually costs more than $500.

I’ve been overwhelmed with emails since mid October.
I’m pleased to announce that today I got the list down to under 50.
It’s amazing how freeing it is to know that there’s nothing in your inbox that you need to do.

Got the turkey. Got the potatoes. Got the onions and stock veggies. Got the bread. Eager to make thanksgiving. But I have to wait! It is too soon.

Witnessed at the hardware store: a grown man, running up and down the aisle, crying “wheeeee!” He appeared to be sincerely joyful.
