It is nowhere near as bad as Obama wearing a tan suit or saluting with a coffee cup in his hand.

Trump's "signature" is on my retirement certificate. I remember once a year. I could see retirement an option if you're higher up, or it's 2021, but sheesh, to retire a year before an election when you're only required 2 years in a position (3 for enlisted) to retire at that rank is crazy to me.

OMG that is funny. Sounds made up!

That's true. I wish I'd have considered that. In my experience, the prior enlisted officers were the very best people leaders. It meant they were probably great NCOs and highly recommended by leadership. Because of that, it still seems suspicious.

Poster quoted retired as a Major. 95%of Captains get promoted to Major. This means he was never promoted after that almost automatic point. I know so many retired LTCs, the next level up, some who were bad leaders, jerks, etc. Makes me wonder what is so "special" about him that he stayed a MAJ.

The evolution of a right wing lie.

1. Make stuff up
2. Tweet said stuff
3. Retweet other people tweeting your tweet
4. Mention it as fact on Fox
5. Quote it in the media
6. Talk about in committee
7. Trump talks about
8. Becomes MAGA fact

You started this thread. I was merely pointing out that all things labeled charity shouldn't be considered charity. Obviously the example you provided is charity. Are you going to keep doing this all day? I would assume you have better things to do than to try to paint me into a corner.

This was not my point. My point was that many Republican donations are to their churches which they essentially receive spiritual services from, and that there is an expectation that they pay 10% of their income for those services in order to be members. That should not be considered as charity.

Certain religions require tithing of 10% of income. Money that is obligatory to be a member of a group is not charity IMHO, especially when you would be shunned in your community if you are not part of that group.

Understood, however much more of the money given to churches goes towards expenses to run the churches. The left overs are donated to those other charities. It is a funnel. It would be interesting to pull out the $ that goes to church expenses, political donations, etc, and then compare parties.

I've always wondered if this is because they tithe to their churches and that is considered a donation.
