Sewed some swim shorts for a fashion show at Aveda school where my sister is finishing up school! Working on a few more pairs as well for family. Print design is one of my own.

My swim shorts laid out flat. They are in my swimmers print (aqua and pink). They have an elastic waistband with built in drawstring, and pockets in the side seams.

Currently attempting to make swim trunks after having made one successful pair 6 years ago. These are my possible fabrics. I’m drafting them myself because I’ve had fit problems with existing patterns. I have only waist measurements. Wish me luck.

3 folded pieces of polyester swim trunk fabric, each in a different print of my own drawings, all with light blue backgrounds in slightly different shades. At the top center is women swimming in pinkish colors - two jump in from different directions and poses, and one lounges in a pink tube. It printed really big for some reason. Bottom left is a spotted design inspired by squid’s color changing skin. Lots of spots of various sizes, in pinks, very dark blues, and a little yellow. On the lower right is a floral design with peonies, roses, and clematis.

I love karaoke but don’t get out as much as I’d like. Chilling with my roommate and dog, fermenting things and making hot sauces, and gardening. At work I pattern and sew dance costumes.

Just bottled up a fresh batch of raspberry wine vinegar! Used new bottles of wine and liquor in equal amounts, diluted with water, with some of the vinegar mothers from last year’s batch! It turned out great, I could drink it as-is! I want to make a jar of something weird next.

9 small bottles and one bigger bottle (about 3 times the size of the small ones) filled with red clear liquid. It looks and smells like cranberry juice, tastes equally like juice and vinegar.

This is the one I made for New Years!

A big round wood charcuterie board but it’s all veggies, citrus slices, herbs, cheeses. A separate bowl of lettuce, 3 dressings, and a little bowl of flaky finishing salt are around it. There are other foods on the table around it (there was so much food) like smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail, and various delicious cakes.

I did it!! Details in alt text. Probably making something similar for a New Year’s party too.

Giant salad board with 2 dressings, bowl of mixed lettuce, oil and fancy salt on the sides. Board includes roasted veggies and potatoes, herbs, beets, citrus fruits, watermelon radish and fennel thinly sliced, olives and pickled onions, cucumbers, and cheeses amongst others.

Oh yeah! My dog turned 17 on Monday. I made her a special dinner, and she also got a dog ice cream which she ate non stop until she got too cold and had to go lay down on her heating pad with a blanket on top.

Sabine on Thanksgiving this year, hanging out on the couch.

Sabine 17 years ago, just a tiny baby in a shirt that’s too big. It’s baby blue and has a green peace sign on it.

Sabine’s birthday dinner of steak, chicken, shredded carrots sautéed in the juices from the meat, and cherry tomatoes which she loves.

I did absolutely nothing today, except make this special chili crisp for my roommate who’s allergic to all alums. It’s the same, except I replaced the garlic and shallot with fried roasted fennel, and a little dehydrated roasted fennel just for fun. Ingredients in alt text.

Ingredients: mixed dried chilis from my garden this year, fresh ginger, chopped roasted peanuts, fried roasted fennel bulb, dehydrated roasted fennel bulb, black Urfa chili, Szechuan peppercorn, salt, pepper, brown sugar, one green cardamom pod cut in half, one star anise, five spice powder, fennel seed, avocado oil (fennel was fried in it). Forgot sesame seeds but it’s fine.

I was deleting everything from the Old Place, and I found this giant watercolor that I did for a friend. I forgot how nice it turned out, I don’t do large painting work like this often.

Some photos of my table from a couple Minnesota fashion week events this year. Working on some new ideas for swimsuit shapes and hand painted prints at the moment for next spring!

My first Lacto-fermented hot sauce! Various peppers, pineapple, and tomatoes. Added some spices, acv, and a touch of soy sauce. Needs some celery and fresh pineapple to finish it.
