Disagree. Drug expiration dates are not "arbitrary". They are limited by the ability to maintain the sterility and stability/ potency of the active ingredient(s) and the existing research on such. ...(1/several)

(3/) Health literacy is important (not saying this to you, Jessica, specifically but to all reading). Yes, meds don't drop-off to 0% safe or effective one day after the printed expiration date, but there IS a date beyond which a med cannot be trusted to be as safe / sterile / potent as labeled.

(2/) Companies that store or dispense meds are required to dispose of meds older than has been confirmed for safety and efficacy. And they should. People, however, can decide to make a judgement call. And people absolutely can be harmed by using expired medications. Antibiotics especially.
