With not enough social safety net, they have to depend on a relationship and that is so tricky.

It’s scary too how common it is becoming to have ladies her age going back to work because they have to. I actually have a lil Filipina working for me now who just has to make ends meet. She should be retired but can’t. She’s one of at least four more who work for me.

I completely share your concerns here. What a conundrum. The sad thing is she (was) such a lively and fun lady who could have had so many options but tied herself to him. I can totally see the transactional side of it from her point of view but damn how sad.

It definitely stirs up some religious trauma for me but it is also very funny.

I grew up southern baptist. Husband grew up in Maryland. He finds it hilarious. I find it triggering from all the religious trauma. It hits so close to home sometimes. It is funny but he enjoys it far more than I do.
