it gets worse: its not a huge US presence, they don’t have schools just for US families, like some larger bases do, understanding is they’ll not take public school slots (free) from Aus students, instead, utilize private options. Tuition for space for new year is due from folks not getting paid…

American friend, her husband active US military based in Australia now. Getting no pay, expected to work & if he takes ANY time its a mark on his record, grounds for dismissal. They had an email telling them to ask Aust. landlords for delay paying rent, Aussie’s flabbergasted at the treatment.
