I played club rugby at Virginia Tech when football was just becoming huge there. So much sports money coming in, and we played on a forgotten field next to one of the vet school cow pastures wearing 10-yo jerseys. (Still loved it, don't get me wrong there...)

I was in Norway for the last two weeks, and everyone was sympathetic. I didn't walk around announcing my citizenship (and my accent is more Canadian than US), but the question led to good conversations any time it was broached.
I half hoped for trouble at customs, but it was a smooth return.

I'm coming back from a trip soon (planned and paid for last summer before Musk hacked the election), and I'm half hoping they stop me and question my views. As a white, 3rd generation citizen with tattoos but zero criminal record, it would hopefully be one more PR nightmare for them.

We hope they do- we welcome it! Many US representatives (even on the left) have stopped taking calls or meetings with citizens, and the regime violates more constitutional rights every day. Unless someone with equal power punishes them, the country will turn violent before spring is over. 😔

Speaking as a US citizen, we also no longer feel that the government is our ally. From the moment the votes were not recounted after the fraudulent election, we knew we no longer mattered. (And we now understand how weak our constitution was and how easy to break.) We're so sorry.
