I'm not a believer, but I think she's confused the two. It's God that sends plagues, floods and fires.

They have not grown from teens into adults and accepted responsibility for their lives, accepted that life is challenging and one has to work on relationships, material survival, fitness etc. There are moments of joy and happiness that come from that hard work. It is effort, and that is rewarding.

There needs to be respect for those who work and contribute to society at the lowest paid levels in the form of a wage they can actually live on. Society exists for the benefit of all people not just those with the most money.
