moving this from the bird app to here to see if anyone has thoughts. i want to continue this idea, how they aren't just reflections of each other, they are "snake at each other's tail" and how this is a metaphor for so much of life's pain/violence.

98 anime and trimax spoilers: do you guys ever think about how vash killed the one human knives made a point to keep alive (for no apparent reason)? it's more complicated than that, but that's essentially what it breaks down to. legato wanted/expected K to kill him upon meeting him. was this a mercy? or a curse (a whim)? you could say K planned to use him but how?? did he know he could subjugate him easily? did K grow a feeling bone towards humans in that second? did he see something (continued) ...that hit close to home? meanwhile, legato essentially says the same to Vash when they cross. i believe the mangs to be more canon than the 98 anime (sorry) so im leaning on that more. legato tells vash that livio will die if he doesn't kill him, but there's something more there. legato faces an independent once again, asking to die. he even uses what power he has over vash to get what he wants (his power over livio). legato uses violence to get what he wants, even his own end. it makes me wonder if legato really DID want to die when he met K, but moee than that, he SHOULD have, like maybe K keeping him alive wasn't a mercy, but a greater punishment. while i think this is possible, i ultimately don't know & it reinforces the idea that K & V are opposites... they are the snake at the other's tail, the destroyer to the other's creator. what one brother starts, the other finishes, for better or worse and by staying in that cycle, they continue to hurt each other and themselves. it's thei height of tragedy and gives me many feelings. 🧍
