I would not use her strong language but I also would never swap the final weeks with my terminally ill mum or my dad . I strongly disagree with this and yes I’ve walked the walk with loved ones.

My Dad had dementia and when the home staff asked me what his name was I said David even though he was known as Dave by all except his siblings. As he only knew his siblings by then,I thought that it was easier for him to be the name his parents called him by. Dave was our memory, no longer his .
