I might be jaded much, but watching Creature Commandos feels like this. Tbh, can't say that current comic series is better lol

Not gonna lie, i really really really yearn for quality cyberman stuff and lowkey dare nu-Who to do a grotesque body horror story with them in it. As far as ratings system allows it to, of course!

Thinking about David Duchovny as Harry Mason from Silent Hill (either first or Shattered Dimension) and ngl it kinda slaps in a hard way

I'm not up to slowburners, but In a Violent Nature is a beast of a movie. Beautiful, with weird but surprisingly working gimick. Kinda sad that Friday 13th as a franchise didn't live long enough to produce something like that!

Salem's Lot (2024) is pretty undercooked but MAN this transition is very meaty

Geist has pretty neat sense of gallows humor

It's also Goonies but with Universal Monsters and kinda lame (Goonies is also lame, don't @ me), but i lowkey appreciate the "it was a different time"ism of the movie

Yeah, The Monster Squad (1987) is so Shane Black it kinda hurts

Lowkey thinking that Paul Dini was more interesting and exciting Superman writer than Batman writer

The Dark Half is a decent movie, but it feels deeply frustrating to me that the most entertaining thing about the viewing was noticing how apparently influential it was on Sam Lake and his Alan Wake (and American Nightmare a bit)

Which isn't surprising tbh, since it's based on a Stephen King stuff

Rarely i see a kind of movie leaning into its gimmick so hard that it ultimately defeats the purpose of telling a story worth investing into. Unfriended is one of that kind. Can't say i wasn't entertained by it at all, but it's like being entertained by Troll 2. The latter is legit WAY more fun tho!
