I love all landscape lighting, and bare tree branches are begging for string lights. People put them up about two weeks too late and take them down at least two months too early.

I was so invested in Bond and Melina in For Your Eyes Only. The chemistry between them, I thought for sure they were forever.

Then Octopussy comes out, and not only is Carole Burquet not in the film, they don't even mention her? WHAT?? We're just supposed to accept that? Sorry, we know what we saw.

I've considered renaming our neighborhood from East End to "Five Points" since that's what everyone calls it anyway, and even how it shows up on Google Maps.

I think those are close to bedrock Dem values, but they're ironically vulnerable to poll-chasing impulses and dead-eyed rhetoric about kitchen tables.

It goes sideways when you take core values like altruism and anti-corruption so far you become averse to speaking to/from your own desires, beliefs, or values. "If I want it, then it's self-interest, and I have to fight for the less fortunate, not myself."

There might be a logic to it, but it falls apart if you try to apply it across different zoning districts or retroactively.

You don't need the contracts. IMO no measure of "paying for itself" is valid, but most defensible is: divide total citywide property taxes by total citywide lane feet. Multiply by # of lanes btw property and street centerline (usually one), times feet of frontage. That's a proportionate tax bill.

He was openly contemptuous of students and faculty while driving the University of Chicago into the ground:

"This doesn't violate my definition of neutrality so when I sign it, I'm not being a hypocrite." +
"I'm an active partner in developing the thing I'm going to sign so when I sign it, that's not me caving."

I liked the one at Little Hats enough that I asked if they could carry the tapenade as a stand-alone product in their pantry.
