Humanity is the See of my Faith. We only say two things, "Please" and "Thank You". "Please" to communicate an unmet need, and "Thank You" to express gratitude. Often people express these in the most tragic ways, guaranteeing their needs won't be met.
Recently Trump admin showed its hand hand when it appealed ruling to fund SNAP, thereby clearly indicating pain cause by loss of SNAP benefits is intentional & those served are being used as pawns, leverage to pressure opposition. Trump admin clearly stated their tactics were force over compromise.

Question: How do we meet the needs of both local businesses, property developers & higher income resident, as well as lower income resident who often work in & for those same businesses/residents? Can cities like Plano meet public transits needs alone, including interconnection with other cities?

What is the need the government is trying solve? Redirecting the money doesn't save the government anything. It would add additional administrative costs, reduce the number of insured raising costs for the most vulnerable. This is a perfect example of short-term thinking when long-term is required.

Feels like a "let them eat cake moment", doesn't it.

Deportations are a symptom of a porous border and a failed immigration system.
The app was a good start. Funding for the immigration administration and courts/lawyers instead of Trump's ICE militarization and including immigration reform in Biden's public works bill would have been a winning one.

Independent isn't disengaged. Often means feeling of abandonment.

I don't know why Biden waited until his 4th yr to address the border issues. Or why Kamala didn't take a stronger stance. I believe immigrants undergird our economy, yet when we have super majorities immigration is not addressed. None I know support Citizens United, yet the parties are silent.

Speaking for myself, I vote in every election I can. To participate in my city council, ISD, county government, state, federal, and am a precinct judge. I have been a delegate and continue to be engaged. We don't need indignation. We need solutions.

This reads as classist imo. Not implying that you meant it that way. I am in good company with many in the working class who are educated, under employed, perhaps discriminated against, care deeply about social issues & the environment & our children's future. We are independent, parties failed us.

Research the conflicts of interests in the Trump administration and in the Pentagon in particular. Expose the money trail that lines the pockets of the new administrators. If the Pentagon wants them to sign a pledge, encourage them to do the opposite, run their news without Pentagon oversight.

I read your article and appreciate your experience. Sounds like the next call to action is to encourage every journalist from every paper to refuse to sign the pledge. Instead, let the reporters write articles about the members of the Pentagon that are passing these laws. There is plenty to report.

I've maintained my friendships with those I disagree with, especially when we disagree on moral issues. In so doing, I believe my friendships have become more rich, we have learned from each other, and I am better at articulating my beliefs than I was before. I believe it makes me a better Humanist.
