John Harkness (1748-1806), born in Massachusetts and a shoemaker by trade, fought in the Revolutionary War. After being wounded and judged unfit for further combat, he was transported to midcoast Maine to regain his health. He died of cancer in 1806.

The academy (at R1 institutions) stopped rewarding humanities profs for slow projects about 50 years ago.

In 1993 each church met one weekend per month. Members would visit other Old Regular Baptist churches on the Sundays their home churches weren’t meeting.

I’m hopeful that this won’t happen in Maine, the largest and most rural state in New England. As Maine Public President Schneider said, Maine is fortunate to have strong $ support from its member base along with corporate support.

Often the negative reviewers criticize the article for not writing the article they would have written on the subject, instead of engaging with the article under review.
