2 very different books this week. From City Lights Publishing, Little Red Barn by Will Potter was a tough read about factory farms and fascism.
Ne'er Duke Well by Alexandra Vasti was a quick romance read to cleanse my palate, made more interesting with the woman-pwned lending library subplot.

This week's books. Soul Machine made a very subtle point that how we knit ourselves together in relationship is stronger, deeper, than anything you purchase. Metal From Heaven was a powerful labor rights story, and Every Day I Read was a lovely morsel on the myriad joys of reading books.

Brave decision to both-sides #ICE violence by the @nytimes.com Editorial Board. No wonder they didn't allow commenting in this piece.
Text from the New York Times Editorial Board opinion piece today that reads "The temperature in Minneapolis is dangerously high. There is an urgent need for the federal agents deployed to the city to step back and take a breath before more Americans are hurt or killed. Those protesting the Trump administration have an equal obligation to avoid violence."

Second set of books in 2026. 3 children's books to keep current for eventual grandchildren. The stories in We Will Rise Again are a level up as they contain movement folks' wisdom in their veins. The AI Con makes it clear all AI does is make the rich richer and our democracy poorer.

When you see ICE commit crimes remember that despite a so-called “ceasefire” Israel’s IDF continues to commit genocide in Gaza”.

ICE and the IDF use the same tactics. No one should suffer from them. Read up on what corporations they have in common.

Read several books already this year, just sitting with Everything For Everyone by M.E. O'Brien and Eman Ahdelhadi. The authors have conjured a future when the system of power have been broken, are being replaced by the power of community, including an imagined liberation of Palestine in 2038.
