Boulder and Utrecht, Netherlands, are twins in land area, similar universities, distance to similar sized major cities, Denver & Amsterdam, both extremely livable. One difference: density. Utrecht 9440/sq-mi, Boulder half that at 4112/sq-mi. Plenty of room if done right.

What is the relative contribution of observational uncertainty to the overall uncertainty? Are there specific phenomena where obs uncertainty plays a bigger role? Anything involving the deep ocean comes to mind.

Fascinating. Mathematics is pattern and symmetry in addition to numbers. I am struck by the symmetry of Acheulean vs Oldowan tools. Does this say something about early human mathematical development?
