I think I should leave this here for contrast...

My Mama, rescued while pregnant, whelped 11, all adopted, then she was chosen by my wife for a special mission: getting my feet on the floor the morning of the worst day of my life, the morning after my wife's passing. The mission continued for almost 4 years until cancer claimed Mama, too.

I think I need a new union card. Maybe before June 14th. I'm on the woodcrafter's side of the union. I'm looking for a blacksmith for the metalwork.

I am afraid you're right. That's why I considering getting my union card:

I could use a blacksmith for the metal work.

Taken during the gathering for Cleveland's MayDay Rally on Market Square, where we had about 4000 in the rain. Many union and family members, but others as well.

This wasn't hard. Living her last 4 months as 24/7 her hospice caregiver under COVID lockdowns, that was hard. But it was also the most loving time of our marriage, for BOTH of us. I'd not change that for anything.

Her portrait on my wall.

Here's Mama. She crossed the bridge last spring due to cancer, but saved me when I lost my wife 4 years prior. Got me out of bed the worst day of my life, and every day until I quit counting. My darling Good Girl.

I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but do we need to start a fund to spend copies of Profiles in Courage to every member of Congress? Just as a reminder of what doing your job right really means.
