Dandelion Infusion: Backyard dandelions—about a dozen blooms—steeped in 192-proof alcohol for under 12 hours, stripping all color and flavor. The glass, a gift from my friend Dawn Hawk, who joined us for our first Amaro party. Captured in Berkeley sunlight on late fall dandelions.

When I was young, every Christmas, “The Thief of Baghdad” aired on TV. I was enthralled by its special effects, monsters, and the quest for the Blue Rose. These photos remind me of that—only now they are Blue Dandelions. What began as an AI prompt now leads along an unintended path.
