Y-o-Y numbers for the #Binghamton region labor force show drop of 500 to 106.9K and a decline of 5K from pre-pandemic number of 111.9K. Over the past 35 years, region's labor force has decline by 27.2K - a whopping 20.2% or one in every five workers.

While large swaths of the nation have surpassed pre-Covid private sector job total, #Binghamton NY still struggles, down 3,800 jobs from May, 2019, but up 100 from May, 2024 to total 79,900.

NYS sunk tens of millions into "economic development" projects in the #Binghamton region since 2011, when Cuomo became gov., saying the money would be "transformative. From April 2011 to April 2025, the region lost 4,100 private sector jobs - 5% of the total.
