Do the Germans have a word for the urge to hang on to an empty container as it may become useful? If they don’t, they need to work on it.

A confused Daily Mail reader writes…

It is a source of great satisfaction that this sort of shite has largely died out.

I got a text from an unknown number. I couldn’t resist.

A good turnout for the anti-far right rally in Newcastle today. About 3x the numbers the far right knuckle-draggers got last weekend.

This is sublimely good.

Harvey’s Sussex Best in the Toon. It’s a dream come true.

They would never know it was me.

What exactly is “the perennial joke about lager drinkers”? What have I missed?

Tea that tastes of almond 🤮 ! This is evil.

I must say, Efes is remarkably good. No cheapo nasties like high fructose corn syrup. Genuinely good Pilsner.

Schneider Helles hitting the spot on this hot clammy evening. Elder Beer’s cellar cooling must be working flat out.

Budvar’s Nealko is an excellent AF beer. And its name sounds Geordie.

Juno Pilsner by Twice Brewed is an utter joy.

My blue/black passport has arrived. It’s a dream come true.

I used to enjoy Singha. It used to be a very good Pilsner. Now it is brewed by Sheps with fructose syrup it’s awful.

The Blue Stoops is an agreeable place. The banquette seating is a leathery joy. The Allsopp’s Best Bitter is a triumph.

My second pint of Harvey’s is exemplary. The first one, although blissful, was a bit last-in-the-cask

First pint of Harvey’s in two years. Bliss.

This London Pride is excellent. It seems to have lost the slightly US character it has had for a few years and gained ( regained?) a distinctly British character redolent of Harveys.

Food for thought.

I would include the BBC in this.

I have long been ambivalent about this beer. When young the background sweetness is far too glucose syrup and the hop character incongruous. I have learnt that it is a beer that benefits from age. This 2022 is excellent.

I have had stern words with ChatGBT. Burt Bacharach’s song “ Don’t go breaking my heart” appears on his album Hit Maker! From 1965.
