First thing I thought of when they started demolishing the East Wing. His MO is to get it destroyed before anyone can do anything to preserve it.

Similarly, rural people (where I live) repeatedly talk about the higher quality of living in rural areas. Yet, housing is much more expensive in urban areas. Why do you think that is?

As someone who lived in ATL at the time, what we were promised was disaster if their policies were implemented. What we got was the world's busiest airport, early and under-budget (among other things).

It's a fantastic piece, Roth (required to call you Roth), that I've read about a half-dozen times and recommended to others. I wouldn't say it made me feel better but it was consoling. Kinda hoping Defector will buy the rights to reprint it from Flaming Hydra.

Yes, this. The Guardian tells me how many articles I've read in a year but refuses to tell me the value of those articles even though I would be willing to pay. Forcing a subscription model on every reader, no matter how itinerant, is leaving money on the table. Seems bad...for them.

If the Supreme Court cannot defend the clear wording of the Constitution, then there is no Constitution. If there is no Constitution then there isn't a point in having a Supreme Court.

If the Supreme Court cannot defend the clear wording of the Constitution, then there is no Constitution. If there is no Constitution then there isn't a point in having a Supreme Court.

If you're not already familiar with it, you should look up Visualizing Black America, a book compilation based on the graphics that W. E. B. Du Bois and his students created for the 1900 Paris Exposition. Amazing.
